Capitol is responsible for the two biggest innovations in the dry ice industry: dry ice pellets and dry ice portability. In the early sixties, we introduced dry ice pellets to the Mid-Atlantic area where previously only blocks had been available. Soon after, the pellets gained popularity on a national level and are now a staple in the industry. Then in 1984 we made dry ice truly portable by introducing polyethylene insulated shipping and storage containers made from USDA-approved materials (until then, only fiberglass containers had been available). This enabled us to deliver smaller quantities of ice and reduce sublimation...a true breakthrough.

Capitol's ingenuity and commitment to the industry has helped us grow to be the largest independent manufacturer on the East Coast. We have supply relationships with two of the largest CO2 (dry ice) and LCO2 (liquid that makes dry ice) companies in the nation, have expanded our products and services to include a full line of insulated one-way shippers and gel packs for a total shipping solution, and have partnered with Pinnacle Recourse Inc. to offer placement/staffing services.
